California’s Energy Commission is considering changes to its 2022 Energy Code and is regulating horticultural energy use for the first time.

The state is currently proposing a lighting standard that would eliminate double-ended high pressure sodium technology from indoor grows beginning January 1, 2023, among other potentially burdensome standards for growers and cultivators of all kinds.
